Successfully Supporting the agencies who serve the suffering, the homeless and the poor.

The Idaho Falls Area Humanitarian Center, Inc. (IFAHC) just successfully finished the first full year in their location at 1415 Northgate Mile, Idaho Falls, Idaho, increasing operations by approximately 70% and doing it under budget.

157,522 volunteer hours (equivalent to about 79 full time employees) were donated by IFAHC workers.  IFAHC manufactured and delivered 23,093 items valued at $783, 171 to some 100 charitable and educational organizations serving the needy in Southeast Idaho.  IFAHC also collected through outside donations, an additional 13,797 items that were also provided to those in need.

Mozelle Neville, Director of IFAHC says, “What a blessing it is to be able to help so many in our community that have so little when we have so much.”  She reports that IFAHC has received many thank you letters from organizations IFAHC helps expressing how important IFAHC is to their success.  She further says, “People have been so generous with material donations, but we are in dire need of monetary donation.”  She says, “There are so many more in need.”

The IFAHC budget for 2015 was $151,300 but they expended only $135,515.03. The majority of these expenses (62%) was for rent and maintenance of the center. Eric Browning, Chairman of the Board of Directors explained, “For two years, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has funded IFAHC rent expenses and some supplies to assist IFAHC in transitioning to an independent community based charity. We are so grateful for their generosity, but we are in need of donations from the broader community to assure the center can continue operations into the future.”  IFAHC’s other expenses have been financed through a few grants and local donations from generous businesses and individuals.  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will continue to assist IFAHC for the next two years at a substantially reduced rate. However, IFAHC has the need for much more help from those generous individuals and businesses in Idaho Falls and other parts of Eastern Idaho whose friends and neighbors benefit from their good work.

The Idaho Falls Area Humanitarian Center (IFAHC) is a nonprofit, interdenominational, charitable organization dedicated to helping the homeless, poor, suffering or otherwise needy individuals and families in Eastern Idaho.  They do this by providing other non-profit agencies with household heath, sanitation, clothing and medical items for distribution to those in need.
