As disciples of Christ we give of ourselves – our time, talents and resources – to care for those in need, wherever they may be. Providing for the poor and needy in the Lord’s way means that the giver helps those who are less fortunate, by giving according to what each has received from God.
Each gives freely and with a true spirit of love, recognizing that God is the source of all blessings and that a true disciple is responsible to use those blessings to meet these goals:
- Prolong Life
- Reduce suffering
- Foster Self-Reliance
- Prepare for Individual, Family and Community Emergencies
- Sustain Life, not a Life Style
- Promote Personal Responsibility
- Provide an Opportunity for Individuals to Serve Their Fellowmen.
